Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her most well-known work is playing the role of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick earned an award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The series ended on August 13, 2012, following the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as Speech and Family Therapist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. She was born in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian and of English origin. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and says she is a member of Passover seders.
